Huge contact center operators and outsourcing companies have capitalized on the global digital network to deliver their services. By the same token, work-at-home private citizens have taken advantage of this as well.

Since last year, the Mindanao Bloggers (MB) group has been getting more and more attention as a direct result of our various activities. We’ve been conducting seminars on blogging, running food tours, and organizing events such as the Mindanao Bloggers Summit and the recent bloggers party.

Today, Goodyear Philippines had a media roundtable where bloggers in particular were invited. I wasn’t able to attend this morning, but was fortunately able to sit down with their PR people. It was very fulfilling to know that they appreciate what the bloggers here in Davao can do for their company in terms of advertising mileage and product awareness.

This is the third time that I’ve been invited to conduct a seminar-workshop on blogging by the Department of Trade & Industry. This time it’s for DTI - Tagum City. Apparently, one of the participants in the 2nd seminar is from Davao del Norte Province, so now they want their own.

As before, I’ve invited Ria to partner with me in conducting the seminar in Tagum. So tomorrow early morning we’re going on a one-hour bus ride to the north.

I’ve joined TNX.net

TNX.net I’ve recently decided to join TNX.net, which is another way for bloggers and webmasters to make money via their Internet presence. The signup process was fairly painless, but I find submitting sites to the system rather tedious, especially if you go for advanced settings.

The way it works, as far as I can tell at this point, is that you earn points for having text-link advertising appear on your site. The redeemed points can then be used to purchase links, or you can sell them back to TNX.net for cash. Oh, you can also assign your points to other users.

Another way to make money

WidgetBucksThis month I started deploying WidgetBucks ads. I found out about it from Jehz and Winston, the creators of the awesome PRC Board Exam Results blog. I’ve gone through other types of blog monetization, and I’ve rejected some of them already (like Kontera, which was really fugly). Hopefully, WidgetBucks will turn out to be a good deal.

Currently, the ads are on Ang Dabawenyo and the Davao Blogspace. While I’m still observing the whole WidgetBucks system, these are the only deployments I’ll have for now. Read on»
