Several Davao bloggers and I had the privilege to meet in person the U.S. ambassador to the Philippines, Kristie Kenney, this morning at the Ateneo de Davao University college library. At one point, we were talking about traveling across Mindanao, so I mentioned to her about Matt’s visit to Davao in September 2008.

Me: “Matt Mullenweg came to Davao last year. He was the one who created the world’s #1 blogging platform–”

Amb. Kenney: “Oh, WordPress.”

Yeah, I was really surprised too when the Ambassador said that.

I exclaimed mentally.. “Wow, She knows WordPress!”

  Actually, the Quickies category is for my Asides — posts in WordPress that are different from regular blog posts. Using this theme, the Asides don’t appear in the blog timeline on the front page — they are displayed on their own column.
