The organizers of this year’s Davao Cyber Expo invited me to give a talk on WordPress, which I delivered last 5 July 2008 at the NCCC Mall. I’d like to thank Christopher Cubos for having given me this opportunity to continue my advocacy of promoting the use of WordPress here in Davao.
Since I was the last speaker during that day, a big part of the original audience had already left before I even started. Still, I’m glad that I was able to tell more people about my favorite blogging platform & CMS, and about upcoming bloggers’ activities in Mindanao.
Only a few of the audience raised their hands when I asked who among them were bloggers, so I’m happy that at least I was able to give them an idea of what blogging is all about. Hopefully they’ll sign up for blogging seminars that we’ll be conducting in Davao in the near future.
An interesting encounter was with a college student, who told me she was going to do a thesis on blogging as a career. Good luck to you!

@iceman9 — I did say (more than once, in fact) that the WP t-shirts we were giving away at the part were all SMALL. Not only that, the shirts are for girls, if you’ll check the label.
