Tagum bloggers +20

The blogging seminar we conducted in Tagum City the other day was a success. The 20 participants were all total newbies, but they were quite easy to instruct on the workings of personal publishing. Ria did an introduction and overview of the world of blogging — I believe she did a good job in demystifying the blog for them.

I did a hands-on training, choosing WordPress.com as the blogging platform. This series of seminars we’ve been conducting is in line with our effort to increase the number of WordPressers in Mindanao.

Hopefully, most of them will persist in their blogging effort. They were, in fact, the ones who invited me to provide the training… but a certain level of attrition is to be expected. Here’s one of our new bloggers in Tagum: Nelly On Expanding Horizons.

It’s really inspiring that the people at the Department of Trade & Industry are very open to new ways of reaching out to their constituents. Like I’ve mentioned in my previous post, this was the third time that we’ve given a blogging seminar under their auspices.

I hope that we will be able to do more of these seminar-workshops in other parts of Mindanao soon!

Cheers to you and Ria for this activity. I’m sure there’ll be more Mindanao bloggers joining the next MBS. Hope you can post photos too. Cheers!
