The verve of the metro
I’ve been here less than 24 hours since arriving this morning and I can already feel the reverberating centeredness of Metro Manila. This is where important things are happening, and this is the place from where many, many things emanate.
Like blogging, for instance. Although we do have a good number of bloggers in Davao and blogging there is alive and, well, kicking, Manila is still where the highest concentration of bloggers can be found.
The same with IT. Cebu does have an aggressive IT industry, and other Philippine cities are starting to get off the ground as well. But the focal point of it all is still the nation’s capital.
And that’s why I’m here now — to recharge, so to speak. Davao, you see, is my comfort zone, and you know what happens to people who blindly stay within their comfort zones: they stop developing. Although, I’m going to be here for just a few days. Hopefully it will be enough for me to get inspired to forge on with my blogging projects.
One of which is PinoyTech.TV. I’ve come to Manila to talk to people about this video blog and its potentials. Since this is where most of the action is in terms of information technology, this is where the content has to come from. So, one of the reasons why I’m here is to try and get people to jump in and contribute to the development of the vlog.
I’m looking forward to my entire stay here, and to meeting up with the bloggers that I’ve so far only gotten to know online.
