A new vlog on tech current events
This is the logo of an upcoming Filipino tech vlog — PinoyTech.TV. It’ll have reportage on IT industry current events, personality and company profiles, features on IT investment destinations, tech jobs postings, and a bit more.
This is my newest venture, and I’m happy to announce that my friends and fellow bloggers, Winston Almendras and Aileen Apolo, have agreed to be part of the initiating group of PinoyTech.TV.
I’ve long wanted to be behind media productions focused on information technology. A few years ago, an IT association I was heading up almost decided to produce a tech show on cable, but it didn’t pan out. It’s always been frustrating for me that TV production was always beyond my reach.
But with the Web, the blogging platform and YouTube, anybody can fulfill this dream! And when I got wind of a promo on .tv domain names, I didn’t hesitate to go ahead and kick-start my broadcast–err–Webcast career.
PinoyTech.TV is already live, running on WordPress. No content yet, but that’ll soon change. The premium theme used, called ModBlogger Tech, comes from one of the Web’s most creative WP themes designers, Blog Oh! Blog.
The videos (and possibly, podcasts) will be uploaded primarily to YouTube and embedded onto the site. I wouldn’t dream of even trying to host the video clips myself, for fear of having my server crash on me!
Right now, there’s just Aileen, Winston and me. We’re looking for more contributors to join us. Newbie vlogger? That’s OK! As long as you have enough gray matter between your ears and a nose for the IT industry’s goings-on, you’re our guy/girl!
We’ll be attending the iBlog4 Conference this 26th of April at UP Diliman, and by then, we’ll have posted a few intro videos to the new vlog. If you’re as excited about PinoyTech.TV as we are, do say hello to any of us and let’s talk shop!
