Twittered out
When I first signed up for a Twitter account, I thought it would be nice to have a cute little gadget on my blog for letting people know what I was up to. It was a way to connect with my readers, to let them in on my personal side once in a while. So that’s how I used it at first — just a glossy-looking box in my sidebar to tell people I was doing this or that. Oh, and it was a good way of announcing events and stuff. So I left it at that.
Before I knew it, people were using it like it was a chat room, a globally public chat room. Until now I feel put off by this. But I do get it. It’s just not my thing.
But then I realized, my friends were using it, and it began to feel like I was out of the loop. So at the urging of one of my fellow bloggers, I tried TwitterFox, a Firefox browser extension that really made it very easy to have an online conversation with other Twits–err–Twitterers. Meanwhile, I’m sure my readers were finding it odd that I’d have messages like "@yagitkuno - yeah he did" emblazoned on my Twitter widget.
Before long, I told my friends, Sorry, TwitterFox just isn’t for me. So now I’ve gone back to using Twitter as a micro bulletin board for this blog. Not very useful as is, I know, so I’m actually thinking of abandoning it altogether.
Today I saw a funny but thought-provoking post and how this blogger, Hugh MacLeod of gapingvoid.com, had deleted his Twitter account. And he accompanied the post with this amusing, oddly disturbing cartoon below.
This MacLeod seems to have his finger on the pulse of the wired world. But I hope his cartoon is just for laughs and not a foreboding of the future of blogging.
Visit Davao City, stay at a nice Davao hotel, and meet with the bloggers here!

digging it! hehe
Hmmm… I wonder if Jehz means he agrees with me, or that he’s submitting the site to digg.com…
I think it’s both Bloggie
I was being rhetorical, Cesar.
And it’s Blogie (isang G lang po).
The cartoon is hilarious.
I admit twitter is a craze these days. I kinda find it annoying at times when I receive 130+ tweets in just 8 hours. But on the brighter side I read somewhere that Twitter is being used for group broadcast messages.
In fact, recently a student’s single-word tweet alerted the world to his arrest and lead to his freedom. Amazing huh?

Fast forward to a few weeks later, Blogie has a brokinated twitterfox by exceeding 70 tweets in an hour. Let’s celebrate! XD
You just had to declare it to the whole effin’ world, Fritz, didn’t you?
Wow… been having quite a few virginal moments lately! XD
