DTI bloggers

Today I’m going to conduct another blogging seminar at the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) - Region 11. The first one was last 1st March, and it was for SMEs in the Davao Region. This series of seminars on blogging as a tool for communication is a project of the DTI with the collaboration of Davao’s most active bloggers.

As the DTI’s private-sector consultant on the I.T. industry, I will make sure that this type of know-how exchange will be sustained.

This afternoon’s group will be comprised of DTI officials, including ASec. Merly Cruz, no less. The DTI is one government agency that I respect highly. Ever since I first came in contact with them here in Davao, I keep witnessing how passionate in their purpose DTI people are. For I.T. in Davao, their aggressive and whole-hearted support has propelled the industry forward much farther.

So today, I will endeavor to provide them with a tool that will hopefully make their jobs a little easier. I will be joined by fellow Dabawenyo blogger, Ria Jose, who was also with me during the first session.

It’s very encouraging to see how the bloggers here have matured into a community-building and -contributing group. It was only last March 2007 that we held a bloggers party, and now we’re into much more fulfilling activities. More to come this year!

Congrats Blogie! From a past time to a socio-civic oriented tool to help the community, blogging has really come a long way, thanks in part to you.
