Due to some logistical difficulties, this Seminar won’t be happening on the 24th of November. Please refer to this blog for further announcements regarding this activity.
As I’ve mentioned before, we are going to do a Blogging 101 seminar-workshop here in Davao City. This will now be a project of The Usual Suspects. Ria Jose and I will be taking the lead in this project.
The first hands-on seminar-cum-workshop will be held on 24 November 2007 (Saturday), tentatively at the Netfront Café (where we had the first Davao bloggers party last March). Participation fee is Php500 per person — this includes use of a computer and lunch. This will be a whole-day affair: from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Ria will talk about the fundamentals of blogging — the why’s and the what’s, and even the where’s. I will cover the technical aspect of blogging. This means that we will walk you through the actual setting up of your own blog! For this seminar, we will use Blogger as our publishing platform, since it is arguably the most user-friendly among all blogging programs.
Aside from blogging best practices, we will also be talking about how to monetize your blog. There are numerous ways to make money with your blog! Although you won’t be able to do so for the first few months of your blogging, it’s always a good idea to have advanced knowledge.
Interested? Drop me a note, and leave your name and contact number so you’ll be included in this coming session. We will be limiting the number of participants to 15 people. There will be others, though. The session this 24 November is just the first of a series.

Hey Moc! Yeah, in January we’ll have a seminar at Phil. Science. Hopefully the Blogging 101 series will also still be around then. Check out our group’s blog for details: theusualsuspects.mobi.
