It was a very productive — albeit momentarily heated — meeting we had last night, a group of bloggers and an NGO representative together in a workshop at Fwendz Diner. (Btw, try their chimichanga!) It was for the MBS1 Pre-Summit Workshop, where we tackled this concern: the role of bloggers in fostering understanding & peace in Mindanao.
On a lighter side, it was also where Mandaya Moore-Orlis revealed herself to the workshop participants and a number of The Usual Suspects. Would you like to know who he/she is? Attend the Summit and you just might find out! 
Mandaya Moore-Orlis is, of course, a gay man. He’s actually a good friend of mine and he’s not exactly closeted. So why does he prefer to remain anonymous in his blog? Hmmm… For the mystery? Or — for some target audiences — for the allure?
Davao has another celebrated anonymous blogger, and I’ve been hearing about her in conversations at restaurants all over the city. My restaurateur friends have been asking me who Davao’s Food Huntress is. I sure would like to know myself! I don’t get her. Her subject matter of choice is probably one of the most non-sensitive topics, gender-wise or culture-wise or any other wise. But why does she veil her identity?
I must admit, though — the Huntress’ anonymity makes for an intriguing blog. Will she reveal herself during the blogging summit? Or will she carry on and leave us all in hungry anticipation?

Hi Blogie - A lot of restaurant or food reviewers worldwide do so anonymously. I don’t know about the Davao Food Huntress, but most who choose to remain anonymous do so because if their faces are known, they tend to get special treatment in restaurants. The food that is served to them is always “a little better” than the normal food served to others. Thus, their reviews are not the same as they might be. I wouldn’t know for sure, but this is what I always expected of the huntress.

@jayvee — The venue’s rather big, because it’s the same plenary hall that the MICT Congress is using. There’s a stage that’s about 3feet high.
