Tried everything from friendster to wordpress and i guess for poor blog newbies (like me) who can't afford a self hosted site but wanted to experiment with blogging, the new blogger seem malleable enough to suit our needs. Like customizing the layouts, widgets, and all other plugins. I used to have a blog in blogger/blogspot but I find it boring, I can't get what I want. : D. Mostly non-techies. And many mainstreamers who are testing the waters. Wordpress - preferred by techies and those who would like more control of their sites. May 50% are serious bloggers, though many may have been influenced by the serious bloggers who are already using Wordpress. My take on platforms:
