This is my blogbase
Just now I realized that I’d been inconsistent about where I post when I blog about blogging. I’ve used this blog to talk about, for example, blogging convictions. And I’ve used Ang Dabawenyo when I was blogging about the 1st Davao Bloggers Party. And I’ve also posted blogging-related stuff at I.T. Talks!
So now I’m finally deciding to keep blogging topics right here at Blogie Blog. This is, after all, my blogbase.
My various blogs are being hosted by my friend, Bob Martin, of Mindanao.com. Bob himself has an armada of blogs covering practically the entire Philippine archipelago. But he’s not in the business of hosting websites — he generously offered to host my blogs to help get my problogging career a much-needed jumpstart. Thanks, Bob!!!
There is a brand-new blog hosting service that will be made available very soon. Right now I’m helping a friend set it up. The server — a powerful Dell box hooked up to a very huge pipe to the Internet via a professional data facility in Japan — will be configured to host WordPress.org blogs.
You’ll be able to create, maintain and manipulate your very own blog, just as soon as we install your copy of WordPress for you. You can also use your own domain name, if you like. We’re also going to give you FTP access so that you can upload extra WP themes and plugins to your heart’s content. Although, I’ll be making sure that your WP installation contains the important plugins in advance.
And the most necessary piece of information: the price tag. We’re still mulling this one over, but it’s not going to be expensive at all. So, you could be on your way to building a problogging career yourself!
Don’t know how? Never fear, help is near. Head on to the Davao Blogspace and check out the How-To section. Also, you might be able to touch base with fellow bloggers over there. The Davao Blogspace hosts feeds of blogs that are of a certain quality or uniqueness.
What’s more, come June 2007, we (the organizers of the blog party last 17 March) are planning another round of Web marketing and blogging seminars. There will be sessions for beginners, as well as for the more experienced. I’m not yet at liberty to say exactly who, but big names in the Philippine blogosphere will be contributing their expertise to this project.
Watch out for more announcements regarding those seminars. As soon as details are firmed up, I’ll let you know. Via this blog, of course.

too expensive for me. hehehe…
i have better options.
June huh? Keep me posted. I’m going to be there on the second half of the month.
wow! that’s cool!
cant wait for the seminars. ahihi. i better advise my mom beforehand.
Sige tina, I look forward to seeing you there!
Blogie, i envy that Davao has seminars like that. Too bad here in Cebu, I haven’t heard such a thing. Most of the people here are actually more into Photoblogging, we actually call ourselves as camwhores. Anyway, I wish I could visit Davao soon.
I find it hard to imagine that there wouldn’t be bloggers’ groups in Cebu. Are you sure, beejing? Maybe you just haven’t come across them?
Of course, I did. Hell Yeah. You don’t get me…hehehe what I’m trying to say is.. we haven’t had any seminars or blogger party or whateva here for a long time. We have groups too but we seldom meet and party. It’s just that we live a very stressful life here. A friend of mine can’t even post her entries anymore. Too bad.
My bad, beejing. Didn’t read thru your comment as closely as I should’ve. Well, why don’t you organize something for bloggers over there?
“Stressful” you say? It’s a state of mind. I’d say my life in Makati was a helluva lot more stressful than how it is in Cebu for you — and yet I found time for friends and parties and hobbies and stuff.
Itsokie. :). Stressful but I still find time to go out, a week wont be complete without goin’ out to drink. Ice cold RH. Tequila. Margarita.
You’re single right?
What gives you the impression that I’m single?
